I haven’t written much serious stuff lately. I think the reason is that I don’t believe there is much to say that will have any effect. The way things went last fall, between the efforts of the two major parties, the American people, and James Comey, we’ve ended up with a pompous, ignorant blowhard, who constantly lies, overstates, and then contradicts himself and his staff, in the White House. If we should be lucky(?) enough to drive him from office, the backup is an extreme right-winger who would not intend to do anything that might be helpful to real people, except with low-paying low-benefit jobs, but would greatly benefit the military, the arms industry, oil companies, insurance companies, private education, ICE, polluters, the private prison system, and anyone with enough money already to fund political campaigns. If we should be fortunate enough to flush him out with the rest of this diminished capacity administration, his backup is a Speaker of the House with the same philosophies. As I said, there’s not much of value to say.
